WNC Highways Structures team have asked us to circulate the following information regarding an upcoming road closure to allow repairs to be made to Trafford bridge.
Location: Welsh Road crossing the River Cherwell. WNC Ref. 3003 Trafford Bridge.
Duration: Up to 4 weeks.
Anticipated Start Date: January 24th 2022.
Work Required: Repair works to both the east and west parapets following separate vehicle impacts. Our road closure has been delayed following liaison with HS2, whereby we have allowed them to use the structure for the marshland translocation. However, we now need to mobilise our works to repair the structure.
It will be a 24-hour closure for the 4 week window. We will have plant, office, welfare and materials stored on the carriageway.
We have also received the following update via Edgcote Estate.
Edgcote road closed 10th Jan for 1 week – Prep for plant crossing
Edgcote road closed 21st Feb for 1 month – installation of plant crossing.
Council closures for repair of the bridge 24th Jan to 20th Feb repair to parapets. As above.
ALSO Council closure for bridge bed repair 28th March to 13th May.
In addition the Culworth road will be closed on the 17th Jan (at Blackgrounds farm) For 2 weeks to install Plant crossing
